Asia Fashion Show feat. Raja of Kotwara

The Grand Ballroom at London’s Montcalm Hotel swung its magnificent doors open to a bevy of beauties and eminent personalities for the launch of the Asia Fashion Show in aid of Pratham, one of the world’s largest education charities.  The event, on 20 June, kicked off with drinks and canapés before guests mingled with filmmaker, designer, artist and poet Muzaffar Ali the Raja of Kotwara and his wife Meera.  The duo were in town to present their couture collection, the appropriately-named Kotwara collection and preview Ali’s latest film Jaanisaar.  The film is an epic drama set in 1877 Lucknow and stars Pakistani actor Imran Abbas Khan alongside the Indian fashion entrepreneur-turned-actress Pernia Qureshi.  The Kotwara brand, brain child of Muzaffar and Meera Ali was created to revive the traditional craft of the region of Awadh, India in 1990.  The timeless and sophisticated collection is an amazing amalgamation of cultures and styles from Lucknow, Kashmir, Hyderabad, Kerala and Bengal.
