Kanika Kapoor to perform Bollywood classics with Naughty Boy at BBC Prom Late night
The venerable BBC Proms is going all fusion.
Indian playback singer Kanika Kapoor is set to join other Bollywood singing sensations at BBC Prom Late Night later this month.
The special will see producer-of-the-moment Naughty Boy also take to the stage alongside legends Benny Dayal and Palak Muchal.
The event will take place at the Royal Albert Hall on 22 July and will be hosted by the BBC Asian Network’s Bobby Friction.
Special guest Emeli Sande is expected to join Naughty Boy for a mesmerizing performance.
Naughty Boy is waiting for the special moment to share the stage with Emeli.
“I couldn’t do anything as important as the BBC Proms without Emeli, having her next to me is simply the icing on the cake”, the producer, real name Shahid Khan, he says.
The Prom will include an orchestral performance of Naughty Boy’s hit single La La La along with first live performance of a new track, Runnin’, with Arrow Benjamin.
The song has been specially produced for the BBC Philharmonic.
Kanika Kapoor and Naughty Boy are expected to perform on old classics from films including ‘Dilwale Dulhania Le Jayenge’ and ‘Kabhie Kabhie’.
The BBC Proms is the world’s largest classical music festival and gets underway at the Royal Albert Hall on Friday 17th July.
The prom presents two months of the world’s greatest artists, composers, orchestras and ensembles across 92 concerts.
Also, over 1350 standing tickets for will be made available for just a fiver on event days.
