BBC presenter Anita Rani has been added to this year’s line up of Strictly Come Dancing, the programme’s producers have confirmed.
The 37-year-old, born in Bradford to Sikh mother and Hindu father, currently presents Countryfile and The One Show on the beeb and joked on Twitter that she’s ready to give the show “some welly”.
“So many elements of Strictly terrify me but I shall try and think #BeyonceAlwaysOnBeat as I hit the dance floor. I’m so excited to indulge that fantasy and hopefully learn some mean moves in the process. Let’s get our groove on!” Rani said.
Rani joins Irish singer and TV presenter Daniel O’Donnell, English boxer Anthony Ogogo, singer and reality TV stalwart Peter Andre, BBC weather presenter Carol Kirkwood, journalist Jeremy Vine, chef Ainsley Harriott, Eastenders actress Kellie Bright and actress Georgia May Foote on this year’s edition of the popular show.
