Police have issued an international arrest warrant for a British Pakistani anaesthetist is charged with manslaughter through gross negligence after the death of a school teacher hours after birth.
Dr Nadeem Azeez is believed to have left his home in Tunbridge Wells, Kent and travelled to Pakistan.
The 52-year-old and his colleague Dr Errol Cornish at Pembury Hospital in Kent are charged with the manslaughter of Frances Capuccini, who died from a haemorrhage after giving birth to her second child on October 9 2012.
The arrest warrant for Dr Azeez has been issued after an inquest into Mrs Capuccini’s death was set or 1 May.
According to reports Mrs Capuccini, who was 30 at the time of her death, had decided to have a caesarean but was convinced to go for a natural birth which took several hours.
Mrs Cappuccini managed to spend time with her new son and nurse him before she died.
Mrs Cappuccini had taught at Offham Primary School in West Malling for nine years after training there.
