Three men – an Indian and two Pakistanis – have been arrested by Home Office officials after they were found inside a freezer during an immigration inspection at a Halal chicken factory in Lancashire.
Reports say the Home Office Border Force raid took place at Gafoor Pure Halal where illegal immigrants have been arrested on two previous occasions stretching back to 2008.
The men – aged 22 and 25 – were arrested for overstaying their visas.
Gafoor Pure Halal is described as one of the “largest independent players” in Britain’s booming Halal meat processing sector.
According to Farmers Weekly, the company produces more than half a million chickens every week and has implemented double shifts at its facility just outside Preston.
