#Jailed: The Faces of Evil – The ‘Masterminds’ behind horrific Aylesbury sex abuse ring

The Faces of Evil - The 'Masterminds' behind horrific Aylesbury sex abuse ring

These are the six British Asian “masterminds” jailed today over an horrific sex abuse ring which saw girls as young as 12 abused repeatedly by dozens of men.

The men, from various parts of the UK, were among 11 who went on trial at the Old Bailey in London for offences committed between 2006 and 2012 in Aylesbury, Buckinghamshire where the ring was based.

The charges against them ranged from rape of a child under the age of 13 and child prostitution to administering drugs to girls to engage in sexual activity.

The convicted men are (main picture clockwise from top left):

  • Mohammed Imran, 37, of Bradford, West Yorkshire.
  • Akbari Khan, 36, of Aylesbury, Buckinghamshire.
  • Arshad Jani, 32, of Aylesbury.
  • Asif Hussain, 32, of Milton Keynes, Bedfordshire.
  • Taimoor Khan, 28, of Aylesbury.
  • Vikram Singh, 45, of Aylesbury, Buckinghamshire

Two of their victims – referred to as ‘A’ and ‘B’ – had been aged 12 and 13 at the time of the abuse and gave evidence in court.

Prosecutor Oliver Saxby told the jury the youngsters were “easy prey for a group of men wanting casual sexual gratification that was easy, regular and readily available”.
Mr Saxby told jurors: “Notwithstanding that they were children, they spoke in terms of these men being their boyfriends.

“And they were passed from man to man – sometimes on a daily basis.  The scale of it is, you may agree, horrifying.  Girl A estimated that she had sex with about 60 men – six zero – almost all Asian.”

The court heard that most of the men were friends and many were married with children.

The men groomed the girls by befriending them, luring them back to properties, showering them with gifts before plying them with drugs and alcohol.

The victims thought they were in “relationships” with their abusers and spoke of the men as being their “boyfriends”.

Singh is said to have approached victim A as she looked at toys inside a Woolworths store in Aylesbury in 2006, just before her 13th birthday.

The court was told that he eventually raped her inside her own home when her mother was out but needed Viagra “because of his age”.

She subsequently began receiving phone calls from other men who would ask her for sex.  When she told one caller her young age, he allegedly replied: “I like that age”.

She was later “taken” by Mohammed Imran who in turn handed her out to more than 15 of his friends who would pay around £25 for sex.

“It’s just that they pass your number around or you’re with one of them and they invited three or four of their friends round and then you have to sleep with them”, she said.

“Because you’re in their place and they’re making your life a bit more exciting, so you do what they want.”

Four of the defendants were cleared of all charges while a fifth faces a re-trial after the jury failed reach a verdict.

The convicted men will be sentenced on 7 September.
