Diwali, the festival of lights is just around the corner.
This year, Diwali has gotten even brighter.
Krissh 3 will be releasing three days early- not on November the 4th but on November the 1st.
On the decision to release ‘Krrish 3’ a few days early, Rakesh Roshan said:
“Any day would not prove beneficial if the film is not good. And it is after almost 10 years that Diwali is coming on a Sunday and my film will get a four day weekend with a Friday release and I am really happy about it,”
Initially, Mr Roshan had opted for the release date of the 3rd of November- the day of Laxmi Puja.
However, when advised by distributors that families would be reluctant for a trip to the cinema on that specific day, the date was set for Monday the 4th.
The final decision for Friday the 1st of November seems to have worked out all for the best. Trade analyst Amod Mehra backed up the new date by explaining:
“November 1 is a very good date and it is always nice to release on a normal Friday besides the date is followed by a long weekend which goes up to Tuesday.”
The third film of the sci-fi meets Bollywood Krrish film series, ‘Krrish 3’ is a sequel following ‘Koi Mil Gaya’ (2003) and ‘Krrish’ (2006).
Directed by Rakesh Roshan and starring son Hrithik Roshan as superhero, the cast includes Vivek Oberoi as antagonist ‘Kaal’, Priyanka Chopra and Kangna Ranaut.
In continuity with the previous films of the Krrish series, Krrish 3 tells the story of how the evil mastermind ‘Kaal’ is confronted by superhero Krrish and his father Rohit. Threatening to destroy the world, Kaal puts Krrish and his family to the test.
The anticipation and expectations for Krrish are running sky high. Its predecessors ‘Koi Mil Gaya’ and ‘Krrish’ had taken box offices by storm and won a number of awards. ‘Koi Mil Gaya’ had won ‘Best Movie’, ‘Best Director’ and ‘Best Actor’ amongst others at the Filmfare Awards.
Along with the Friday release and a reputation of saving the world, we will soon find out if Krrish 3 still has the super powers intact.
