#LifeSaving: Teenage Peshawar attack victim arrives in Birmingham for treatment

A Pakistani teenager who was injured in the horrific attack on a school in Peshawar in December will undergo life-changing surgery at the same Birmingham hospital where teenage activist Malala Yousafzai was treated.

Ahmed Nawaz, 15 suffered life-threatening injuries in the 16 December attack on the Army Public School in the northern Pakistani city.

His brother was among the 141 people – 132 of them children – massacred by Taliban gunmen.

Ahmed was shot several times and has been unable to use his left arm.

He arrived in the UK on Friday and will undergo treatment at the Queen Elizabeth Hospital in Birmingham, the same facility where education activist Malala Yousafzai underwent life-saving treatment after she was shot by the Taliban in 2012.
