‘Besharam’ star Pallavi Sharda has confirmed she will be appearing alongside Irish actor Jonathan Rhys Meyers in a new international project titled ‘Shambhala’.
The film is set in the Hindu Kush mountains in Northern Pakistan with Meyers – the star of ‘Bend It Like Beckham’ and ‘The Tudors’ among others – playing the lone survivor of a plane crash forced to fight for his survival as he battles the elements as well as a bout of amnesia.
Sharda, 27, confirmed the news on Twitter on Friday saying she will start shooting in Manali, northern India from next week.
“I’m working with Jonathan Rhys Meyers. He’s a big Hollywood actor, so for me, he’s like the biggest co-actor that I’ve had,” she said.
The drama may be just the fillip the Australia-born beauty needs for her film career.
She was widely heralded when she appeared alongside Ranbir Kapoor in the 2013 comedy ‘Besharam’. Despite the unmistakeable chemistry between the pair, the film was an embarrassing flop, as was the critical and commercial disaster that was ‘Hawaizaada’ earlier this year.
Doesn’t mean Sharda’s not keeping herself busy.
She told an event in Mumbai that she’s exploring other creative areas.
“I’m actually writing a book right now in Australia, which is why I’m there very often. It’s very non-Bollywood, so everybody is like, ‘What is she doing?’ So that’s what I’m doing!”
