In a move that many will say is long-overdue, British-Indian Bollywood starlet Katrina Kaif will join some of her illustrious thespian colleagues in becoming a brand ambassador for L’Oreal Paris.
Kaif, 30, was unveiled as the latest actress to front the French cosmetics giant’s campaigns on Monday and follows in the footsteps of the likes of Aishwarya Rai Bachchan, Sonam Kapoor and Frieda Pinto.
The ‘Dhoom: 3’ star said it was an “incredible privilege to join this league of ladies” and described L’Oreal Paris as a brand that she has always “admired” for its “glamour and powerful message”.
Ms Rai Bachchan, who has been a L’Oreal Paris mainstay for more than a decade and whose ex Salman Khan also romanced Kaif, welcomed the younger actress to the fray: “I would like to extend a warm welcome to Katrina to the L’Oreal Paris family.
I am sure she will enjoy representing team India as brand ambassador and I wish her the very best.”
Born in Hong Kong to an Indian Kashmiri father and an English mother, the stunning actress led a nomadic life, living all over the Far East, Europe and even Hawaii, before settling in Mumbai for a career in modelling and acting.
Since her debut in 2003, Kaif has established herself as one of Bollywood’s leading ladies, appearing in a string of blockbusters, including ‘Race’, ‘Mere Brother Ki Dulhan’, ‘Ek Tha Tiger’ and ‘Jab Tak Hain Jaan’.
Outside of her acting career she has also forged a successful career as a brand endorser with multi-million dollar deals with the likes of Olay, Panasonic and Pantene.
The glamour and prestige of being a L’Oreal girl will merely be the icing on the cake.
Because of course, she’s worth it.
