Horror is probably the fastest-growing film genre in Bollywood at the moment.
The latest film preparing to scare the bejesus out of audiences is an as-yet-untitled, official re-make of the spooky 2013 Hollywood hit ‘Oculus’.
Doubling the whammy is the fact at the Bollywood remake stars real-life brother and sister duo Saqib Saleem and his stunning sister Huma Qureshi.
The Hollywood original tells the story of a young woman who is convinced that an antique mirror inside her house is responsible for the terrible misfortune that her family has suffered. The tale is told through the eyes of a young brother and sister over two distinct eras.
It’s an intriguing premise made the more promising by the presence of two of Bollywood’s most obviously talented yet under-valued actors, who happen to be related. If an eclectic body of work was reflective of an actor’s breadth of talents, then both Huma, 29, and Saqib, 26, qualify.
The tall and handsome younger sibling’s is a wonderfully romantic adventure thus far in Bollywood and one which has taken in the likes of fun gigs like ‘Mujse Fraandship Karoge’ to powerful and emotionally draining roles like that of a young gay man in ‘Bombay Talkies’.
Huma’s filmography is no different. After bursting on to the scene with her scene-stealing role in the Anurag Kashyap’s mafia epic ‘Gangs of Wasseypur’, the stunning beauty has created an equally stunning body of work.
