The New Indian High Commissioner Y K Sinha presents his credentials to the Queen Elizabeth II

Queen Elizabeth II is presented with Letters of Credence by the High Commissioner for India Yashvardhan Kumar Sinha, watched by his wife, Girija, during a private audience at Buckingham Palace, London.

The new Indian High Commissioner to London, Mr. Y. K. Sinha formally began his tenure after presenting his credentials to Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II on 15 February. Mr. Sinha was accompanied by his wife, Mrs. Girija Sinha, the Deputy High Commissioner and senior officers of the High Commission.

Mr. Sinha is the 26th High Commissioner of India to the UK since 1947. He was earlier posted as High Commissioner of India to Sri Lanka and took up his assignment as the High Commissioner of India to the UK in December 2016.

During his interaction with the Queen, Mr. Sinha High reiterated the commitment of the Government of India to work towards implementation of the road map agreed between the two countries during the visit of the UK Prime Minister to India in November 2016.

Her Majesty the Queen expressed happiness at the various initiatives being taken by both countries to further enhance the bilateral relations. The High Commissioner thanked her Majesty the Queen for hosting a reception to commence the India-UK year of culture.
